CX3 FLIGHT CALCULATOR
ASA wanted an attractive device that could be used for training and learing to fly. The user experience design was made intuitive for students and newer pilots, with a minimal graphical system and shallow depth of navigations.
For ease of use, we designed in an icon system that informs the user when there may be an error in their calculations. Pilots can calculate true airspeed, ground speed, mach number, altitudes, fuel, headings and courses, time/speed/distance, winds, and weight and balance. This was designed in collaboration with Preston Kupish and the PCS engineering team.

The housing design was an exercise in subtle detail, so that the Graphic User Interface and Keypad Interface would be the primary read on the device, with aesthetics playing a supporting role that would look appropriate to the cockpit.
